Three walls were removed, one being load bearing, to create an open floor plan for the kitchen / dining area. The island was installed with a sitting area near the edge of the kitchen where a wall had been.
Floor patching & finishing as well as wall patching & painting made the room feel as if it had always been in this configuration.
